FOR PROFESSIONAL PRACTITIONERS

MENTORING

WHAT/WHY? After I qualified I plunged into a practice that grew quickly, and I needed an experienced practitioner that I felt comfortable with to talk to regularly and discuss emerging questions and issues. I also found it helpful to go to an experienced practitioner to practice and explore FI in a different way to bigger advanced trainings. It was very helpful to be able to spend time on whatever we felt was needed at that point. After nearly 20 years of a busy practice, and several years into being an Assistant Trainer, I am happy to offer the kind of support that I found so helpful myself.

WHO FOR? Any Practitioner who wants to engage in some regular practice or support for a while.
eg:
-those whose practices are just starting to develop
-those whose practices are further down the line and are facing new challanges
-those who want to reconnect with the work, or aspects of it, after a break.

HOW /WHAT?
What would you like?
Eg:
- one-to-one in-person or on zoom (most popular currently)
- small group discussions/study (probably on zoom)
- in-person practical work in 2s or 3s.
- a mix
(all in-person work is at my small studio in London N8)

I am currently doing low price sessions over the next year while I can.
Contact me with what you are looking for and we can go from there.

Mentoring and Advanced Trainings

ADVANCED WORKSHOPS

Saturday-Sunday November 1st - 2nd 2025
“INVESTIGATING SQUATTING"
Advanced Training for Professional Practitioners
At Praktijk Lijnbaansgracht in Amsterdam
10.30-5.30 euro 280
FIs with Victoria Available to book on 3rd Nov

Squatting is a fundamental human movement, and we have mostly lost it from our culture outside of the gym. But if we leave behind the unhelpful pressure of trying to achieve a full squat and simply explore the elements that go towards it, we can find so much useful learning and improvement in so many ways:

  • Mobility in the hip, knee and ankle joints

  • Relationship of the pelvis to legs and back

  • Extension through the upper back

  • Folding and unfolding to get up and down from the floor

  • Ability to lift and lower objects from the floor

  • Easier sitting on a chair and improved standingI’m sure we could find more! But we can make a start over two days using Awareness Through Movement and Functional Integration to investigate this rich topic!

BOOKING: Simon Brod or Andrea Derkse

Sat February 28th- Sun March 1st 2026
"CLOSE UP WITH THE RIBCAGE"
Advanced Training for Professional Practitioners
In North London
10.30-4.30 (nb sun might move to 10-4 to help return journeys)

see all details below

These are two days of advanced training focussing on FI, with ATM for clarity.

Book both days for more of the picture, but if you can only make one, I am aiming for each day to be ‘stand alone’.

From the mentoring work I have been doing, a theme that has come up repeatedly is working directly with the thoracic spine and ribs and translating that into different positions. We will use ATM to clarify this in our own self-image and then spend most of the time with FI.
Obviously we will be considering the bigger context as well, looking at over-all patterns, relationship to functions like walking, reaching, sitting and standing - and the difference this focus makes.

This being a small group (max 8 participants) I am hoping to be able to respond to the group and to the issues and needs that come up around this theme. If you can manage two days, it will make it easier to do that.
